Andrea M. Maccarini is professor of Sociology at the University of Padova, Italy. His research interests lie in social theory, education and socialisation processes, macro-sociology and cultural change. He has been a visiting scholar in various Universities, among which the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Boston University, and Humboldt-Universität Berlin. He is director of the Centre for Social Ontology, founded by Margaret S. Archer, and member of IACR (International Association for Critical Realism. He has been the Italian delegate at OECD Centre for Educational Reform and Innovation (CERI), 2012-2019. At the OECD he is currently a member of the expert group for the Study on Social and Emotional Skills.
